With the Motion Bandits exhibition the curation aims to present skateboarding and its counter-culture aesthetic in a concise gallery space. This project was born from the enthusiastic community who met at @citybowlpark for the skate and create sessions. In addition, we hope to show emerging artists next to more established contemporary artists such as Janko de Beer, Marti, Faith 47, Paul Senyol and Roger Ballen. We wish to honor skate culture by creating a platform for collaboration while giving back to the community in an effort to raise awareness and donate a percentage of the proceeds to Ladles of Love. During the coming three weeks we will be hosting a silent auction of an action painting that will be completed in the gallery and of which the progress will be shared on social media, proceeds will go to Ladles of Love. Look out for the skating event, action art and Vinyl DJ’s and other activations during the three weeks running of the show. This show is co-curated with Jared Aufrichtig and Livia Schneider.
