Ludumo Maqabuka (Johannesburg, South Africa)

Ludumo ‘Toto’ Maqabuka was born in 1982 in eNgxokweni in the outskirts of Mthatha in Eastern Cape. He grew up in Vosloorus, in the east of Johannesburg in Ekurhuleni municipality in the Gauteng Province of South Africa. Currently Ludumo. He completed his education in 2000 at Danwview High School and thereafter pursued his passion for arts at Tshwane University of Technology. Maqabuka's qualifications include a National Diploma in Fine and Applied arts in 2007, a B-Tech in Paintng in 2005 and a Diploma in Graphic Design and Web development acquired at Rosebank College in 2012. Ludumo specializes primarily in Urban Contemporary. The Artist aims to produce art that is aesthetically pleasing, yet informative and relevant in context. The influence of mass media, township life, urban culture and sub-cultures such as hip-hop are of his particular interest. Ludumo has exhibited at select locations in Johannesburg and has contributed to the Yellowoods Permanent Art Collection.
