Born and raised in Johannesburg, Jessica Rayne spent 4 years of study in South Africa at the London International School of Fashion and later in the UK at Central Saint Martins. She spent 9 years working as a fashion designer with her own bespoke women’s wear label as well as a stylist and image consultant to various high profile clients.

After leaving the city and moving to Plettenberg Bay, Jessica has taken her innate appreciation and love for detail, texture and colour and began to practice as a visceral artist. Decontextualizing and reconstructing, she creates works in a variety of mediums and techniques. Guided heavily by an intuitive process she predominantly creates abstract mixed media works as well as highly detailed and decorative collage pieces.

Jessica has found a way to express, heal and make sense of the physical existence and what it means to be human through her art as she explores themes of spirituality, metaphysics and universal consciousness. She has exhibited locally and looks forward to an expansive and evolving career as an artist and creative.
